How to add a transaction

Lekhaa is built for daily accounting. Adding a transaction should take seconds, not minutes. This guide walks you through a clean, manual-first flow so your ledger stays accurate.

Step 1: Choose the type

Open Lekhaa and start a new entry. Select whether the transaction is income, expense, or a transfer. Keeping these types clear makes your daily accounting easier to read later.

Step 2: Enter the amount

Add the exact amount for the entry. If it is a partial payment, you can record the portion that was paid and update later. This keeps your ledger honest and practical.

Step 3: Add a short note

Use the free-text note field for context. A short note like “groceries” or “work payment” is enough to recognize the entry later. This is especially helpful for busy days.

Step 4: Save and review

Save the entry and move on. You can review daily or monthly summaries any time. If you need help with summaries or exports, visit the Support page.

Tips for daily accounting

Try adding entries as soon as money moves. Small daily amounts add up quickly, and quick entries keep your daily लेखा clear. If you want a broader overview, check the daily accounting guide.

If you are tracking offline, you can still record everything without internet. Learn more about this on the offline tracking page.
